Rides are by Reservation Only - Closed November 15 to November 30th
Hi, I’m Chev. My journey hasn’t been the easiest, but it’s made me who I am today. I was rescued from a kill pen where I was scared, underweight, and unsure of people. I used to flinch at even the smallest movement — I just didn’t know if I could trust anyone yet.
They said I was broke to ride and drive, but once I was picked up, it turned out I had a suspensory ligament injury in both of my back legs. That meant driving wasn’t safe for me anymore. Thankfully, my new family made sure I got the care and love I needed. With time and good feed, I put on weight and started to feel strong again.
The vet says I’m cleared for light trail rides — as long as I feel good — and that makes me happy, because I love getting out on the trails. I’ve got the biggest heart and I really do try my best at everything I’m asked to do. I’m still learning to fully trust people, but every day I get a little braver.
And let me tell you — everyone loves my hair! My long mane and bangs are my pride and joy. It’s okay, I know I’m a little bit fabulous.
I do have an update for you. I have not been retired from trail riding as much as I loved giving you all trail rides it was time to give my legs a rest. CJ never wanted me to be sore so I’ve since moved to my new home at Sandy’s Secret Sanctuary in Fife Lake, just about 15 minutes from CJ’s Stable. I’ve made so many new friends there, including PepperAnn! Life is peaceful, and I’m surrounded by people who care. You’re always welcome to come visit me and give me some brushes and hugs — I’ll be waiting.
"Treats" are a small gift of care.
