Rides are by Reservation Only
Hi, I’m Daisy — a proud bay Thoroughbred, foaled on May 1, 1995, in Washington. My registered name was Once Upon a Time, which feels fitting because my life truly was a story worth telling. It did take a bit of time to figure my lip tatoo out but I am glad we did.
When I first came to CJ’s Stable, I was thin and frail, and my body carried signs of a long life — an old bowed tendon and stiff joints from arthritis. But with love, care, and good feed, I began to shine again. I was given joint injections to stay comfortable and, before long, I was cleared for light trail rides — something that brought me so much joy. I might have been older, but the moment a saddle went on, my spirit lit up.
I loved to stretch my legs on the trails, to feel the wind in my mane again, and to share that sense of freedom with the children who rode me. They loved hearing that they were riding a real racehorse — and I loved the gentle hands and laughter that reminded me how wonderful life could be.
I became great friends with Storm, Buster, and Beau, and even Brody, who liked to follow me everywhere I went. Those friendships, and the people who cared for me, made my later years full of love and peace.
On August 10, 2023, I ran one last time — strong, free, and full of spirit — just like I was at five years old. I spent that day running and bucking in the open field with my friends, my heart light and happy. Though my time on Earth came to an end, my story lives on in every heart I touched and in every little rider who believed in the magic of a racehorse named Daisy Girl. 💛🐎
Though Daisy has crossed the rainbow bridge, her spirit will forever dance through the fields of CJ’s Stable. She will always be remembered for her gentle soul, her resilient spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone she met. 💛
"Treats" are a small gift of care.
