Rides are by Reservation Only - Closed November 15 to November 30th
Hi, I’m Storm! I came to CJ’s Stable back in 2003 as a rescue. I was skinny, tired, and could only ses out of one eye— life hadn’t been very kind to me before I found my forever home. But everything changed the day I arrived. Scott the same one that carried Buster up to the barn after he was born is the one who brough me home to Cassandra Joy's (CJ) and their family gave me love, care, and a safe place to just be me. I especially took a liking to their Grandfather Francis. Him and I became very good friends. I liek to think I was his horse. I quickly learned what it meant to be part of a family.
Prior to being apart of Busters Family I wouldnt let anyone ride me. They told Scott if you ride him you can have him and well I let him ride me and after that I was always gentle and trusting. The kids could hop on bareback, and I carried them proudly wherever they wanted to go. I’ve always loved being around people and doing my best to listen to everything that’s asked of me. Some say I walk a little fast — okay, maybe a lot fast! They like to joke that I must’ve been a racehorse in a past life. Even now, if you take me on the trails, I could finish the ride in half the time of everyone else. That’s just how I am — full of life and always ready to move, even at my Age.
When I first came to the stable, everyone thought Buster would be mean to me because, well, he usually didn’t like other horses much. But we proved them wrong. Buster became my best friend from day one. He even showed me around the pen, staying by my side like a brother. We’ve been inseparable ever since — he looks out for me, and I look out for him.
I’ve had the honor of giving so many people their very first horse ride, and I loved every moment of it. I might be older now, but I still have that spark in me — that same energy and love for life I had when I first arrived.
These days, I take things a little easier, especially when it’s hot or dusty since I have a touch of heaves. But on the right day, when the weather’s nice and the breeze is cool, you can bet I’m ready to hit the trails again, even if its just for a short pony ride! I love my feed, I love dinner time, and most of all, I love being part of this family.
I’ve been CJ’s horse since she was 10 years old, and I plan to keep on making her proud for as long as I can. I am very excited to meet all of you! ♥️
