Rides are by Reservation Only
There is something incredibly calming about spending quiet time with a horse. Being around them naturally slows us down, reduces stress, and creates a sense of connection you simply can’t find anywhere else.
During your session, you’ll choose a horse and spend time brushing them, learning about their personality, loving on them, and finishing with their favorite snack.
Not only is this grounding and peaceful for you — it is incredibly beneficial for them as well. Brushing supports coat health, improves circulation, and gives them the focused one-on-one attention they truly thrive on.
Our senior horses especially enjoy these sessions. As they age and require a fully pelleted diet due to older teeth, their care becomes more involved — and your visits directly support their continued comfort and well-being.
While CJ’s Stable is not a rescue and we do not accept donations, we are always so appreciative of the thoughtful gifts and senior feed many of you have brought for the herd.
If you’ve ever wanted quiet time at the barn without booking a ride, this experience is for you.
Complimentary photos can be taken on your phone or ours to capture your time with the horses.

No, riding is not included in Meet, Greet & Groom sessions. This experience is focused on one-on-one time, grooming, and connection with the horses. Trail rides and riding sessions can be booked separately.
Yes, you’re welcome to request a specific horse when booking. Grooming session proceeds go directly toward that horse’s ongoing care.
Each horse has a unique personality, and we will always do our best to match guests appropriately. Some horses are especially patient and well-suited for young children, while others thrive best with calm adults or older guests who are comfortable moving slowly and giving them quiet space.
If you’re unsure which horse would be the best fit for your group, we’re happy to guide you.
Yes — thoughtful gifts are always welcome, but never expected.
While CJ’s Stable is not a rescue and we do not accept donations, many guests enjoy bringing small treats or senior feed for the horses, especially our older boys who are on a fully pelleted diet.
Some of the most appreciated items have included:
• Senior pelleted feed
• Carrots or apples
• Horse-safe treats
• Fly spray during warmer months
Your visit alone supports their continued care, but if you feel led to spoil them a little extra, they certainly won’t mind 💛
We recommend closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dusty and hairy.
We save treats for the end of your session to help keep the experience calm and focused.
If treats are given at the beginning, horses can become distracted and more focused on searching for snacks rather than enjoying the brushing and bonding time. Waiting until the end helps them stay relaxed and prevents accidental nibbles while little hands are grooming.
It also makes the treat feel like a special reward to finish your visit 💛
